Production Design Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Production Design Specialist to join our production team. As a key member, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our furniture designs are feasible and efficient to produce.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about design, production, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Optimization: Develop detailed production drawings for furniture items based on initial designs and specifications, incorporating all necessary technical details, dimensions, and assembly instructions.
  • Cutting List Management: Generate comprehensive cutting lists outlining materials needed for production, including dimensions and quantities, and collaborate with suppliers to ensure listed materials are available and suitable for intended designs.
  • Material Efficiency: Utilize software tools (e.g., panel optimization software) to create optimized cutting plans minimizing waste and maximizing material efficiency, analyzing and improving plans based on production feedback and material availability.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with furniture designers and engineers to ensure feasibility of designs from a production standpoint and communicate effectively with the production team to convey any changes or requirements for manufacturing processes.
  • Quality Assurance: Review production drawings and cutting lists for accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations, conducting periodic audits of production processes to ensure adherence to design specifications and optimize techniques.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize CAD software to create and modify production drawings, staying updated with the latest software tools for cutting list generation and optimization.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain organized documentation of production drawings, cutting lists, and project revisions for future reference and compliance, preparing reports on material usage, production efficiency, and discrepancies encountered during production.
  • Problem Resolution: Address issues arising during the production process related to design, materials, or cutting optimization, collaborating with stakeholders to identify solutions and implement changes as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in CAD Software: Ability to utilize CAD software to create and modify production drawings, and stay updated with the latest software tools for cutting list generation and optimization.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain organized documentation of production drawings, cutting lists, and project revisions for future reference and compliance.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to work closely with furniture designers and engineers to ensure feasibility of designs from a production standpoint and communicate effectively with the production team.
  • Ability to Analyze and Improve Processes: Ability to utilize software tools to analyze and improve production processes, reducing waste and increasing material efficiency.
