Key Job Responsibilities:

We seek an experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in designing and developing electrical systems, specifically switchgear and switchboards.

  • Develop comprehensive mechanical designs for enclosures, busbar supports, frames, and layouts that integrate seamlessly with electrical systems.
  • Create 2D/3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and BOMs using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

The ideal candidate will ensure designs comply with relevant standards such as UL-compliant designs. They should also consider IP/NEMA ratings, CSA and IEC standards, thermal management, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret electrical schematics to ensure proper mechanical/electrical integration.
  • Collaborate with electrical designers to provide fully integrated solutions.
  • Address thermal management, mechanical strength, structural stability, and vibration.
  • Validate designs for manufacturability, reliability, and compliance.

This role requires strong engineering skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills. The selected candidate will lead assigned design tasks independently and drive design reviews, resolve technical issues and provide engineering inputs across project phases.

Job Requirements:
  • UL 1558 (Switchgear) and UL 891 (Switchboards) compliance
  • Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of electrical system design principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
