Job Title: Backend Systems Engineer

The Role:

  • Create a scalable backend with FastAPI to power multi-agent workflows.
  • Design workflow orchestration pipelines using Temporal or similar to plan actions, handle fallbacks, and reason over user intent.
  • Implement systems for knowledge retrieval and adaptive workflows in memory and context.
  • Manage authentication, integrations, and secure credential handling.
  • Build robust error handling for internal reasoning and external API/tool failures.
  • Oversight of backend infrastructure deployment, monitoring, and scaling.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Python and FastAPI for backend development.
  • Proven ability to design workflow orchestration and agent systems.
  • Experience with context management, prompt engineering, and AI-engineering, along with understanding of agent frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Postgres and vector databases.
  • Ability to build systems for minimal hallucination and graceful error recovery.
  • Familiarity with dynamic workflow generation and multi-agent architectures (functional programming approaches).
