Director of Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Engineering to lead our India-based engineering organization. As a technology leader, you will be responsible for building a top-tier software organization that develops and maintains highly scalable, reliable, and available systems.

This is a people manager role reporting to the VP, Product & Technology. You will be responsible for hiring and developing great talent while building a solid engineering organization that thrives on execution, innovation, and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire and develop great engineers while building a solid engineering organization.
  • Deliver high-quality products that delight customers while managing the health of the code base through continuous refactoring and management of technical debt.
  • Champion the culture, processes, and tools required to maintain a frictionless high-quality development environment.
  • Dive deep into technology and stay on the forefront of the latest tools, technologies, and strategies.
  • Provide coaching and leadership in software best practices, automated test strategies, and work toward flattening the cost of change curve for our software products and services.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of combined software development & management experience across multiple languages and frameworks.
  • 8+ years hands-on software development experience.
  • 3+ years managing software organizations over 25 people.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and leading 25+ size global engineering teams in India.
  • You obsess over customer experiences and will be a partner to product management/engineering, sales, operations, and other parts of the business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing direct reports that are people managers.
  • Experience with full-stack SaaS development - prior experience in Enterprise SaaS companies.
  • Knowledge and experience in high-scale, highly available (99.99+) systems.
