We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Analyst I to join our Amazon Direct Tax Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing US state and local income tax filings, as well as assisting in the preparation of Amazon's US income tax provision, forecast, and tax returns.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review US state and local income tax returns, including state modification calculations, multi-state allocation and apportionment calculations, and the calculation and documentation of state credits.
- Assist in the preparation of Amazon's US income tax provision, forecast, and tax returns as it relates to US CapEx transactions by analyzing US GAAP reporting, determining book-tax differences, preparing workpapers and technical memorandums, performing tax law research, and operating/updating data models.
- Assist in the preparation of deferred tax reconciliations; identify drivers of basis differences.
- Assist in the identification and implementation of process and technology tool improvements which increase efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of data.
- Assist in developing analyses, metrics, and narratives to be communicated to tax management, external auditors, and other stakeholders within and outside tax.
- Assist in coordinating information requests with business partners to ensure accurate and timely inclusion within various tax reporting deliverables.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Master's degree
- 1+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
