Project Financial Manager

The primary role of the Project Cost Controller is to manage and oversee all financial aspects of a project, ensuring timely completion and optimal utilization of resources.

• Budget Planning: The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and maintaining project budgets, conducting quarterly/annual/monthly reviews, and providing forecasts.
• Financial Management: This position entails managing project invoicing, tax-related issues, guarantees, bonds, accounting, and reporting. It also involves driving optimization of cash flow, revenues, and gross margin contribution in conjunction with Central Cost Controller/Project Manager as necessary.
• Opportunity/Risk Identification: Participates in identifying opportunities and risks to ensure that all required mitigation actions are implemented on time. Collaborate with PM/Central Controller/PSCM to prepare monthly project reviews jointly.
• Commercial Awareness: Promote commercial awareness within the project team and provide input on the project execution plan.
• Safety and Integrity: Adhere to core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for your actions while caring for colleagues and the business.
• Client Coordination: Coordinate client approvals for invoices, obtain payments, and maintain compliance records.
• Billing Register: Maintain an up-to-date billing register capturing details of all billings, their status, and deductions with categories and reasons. Follow up on amounts deducted.
• Site Expenses: Monitor and control site expenses rigorously. Weekly reports of project expenses in a specified format and reconciliation of SAP entries with invoices
• Actual vs Budget Analysis: Conduct analysis of actual versus budget costs and revenue on the project, highlighting potential issues to the controller manager and project managers.
• Project Actualisation: Lead project actualization (actua) activities at HO-defined frequencies, collaborate with the project team to gather data, and prepare finance-related slides for actua presentations.
• Kappa Review: Review Kappa against budgeted costs, highlighting instances where costs exceed budget. Ensure adequate documentation is attached, including quotations, budget sheets, comparative information, billing value, authorizations, reasoning for deviations from minimum quotations, budget overruns, non-lowest offers, and non-compliance with payment terms.
• Monthly Business Review: Share project slides for the monthly business review, adhering to timelines defined by the project team and keeping the controller manager informed.
• Provisions Check: Comprehensive check on provisions to ensure they are accurate, complete for monthly closing, and aligned with accounting rules and HO instructions.
• Cash Verification: Perform monthly cash verification and surprise verification at least once a month, reporting results to the HO team (controller manager and IFC team).
• Internal Financial Controls: Lead and supervise compliance with Internal Financial Controls (IFC) as defined by HO in the Risk and Control Matrix (RCM).
• ABG/PBG Renewal: Monitor ABG, PBG, and other guarantees to ensure timely renewal and reduction according to contractual conditions.
• Tax Compliance: Maintain tax compliance.
• Support to Execution Team: Provide necessary support to the execution team and be an integral part of the project team, acting as core finance support for all finance-related matters on-site.
• Timesheets Filling: Fill man days timely for self against respective projects.
• Day-to-Day Work Supervision: Verify that staff working under the project have their timesheets filled properly and timely.
• Site Accountant Guidance: Supervise the day-to-day work of site accountants, offer guidance, and support for efficient conduct of site tasks.
• Central Controlling Support: Offer support to the central controlling team on various analyses and ad-hoc requests.
