Electron Optics Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Electron Optics Engineer to shape the architecture and culture of our founding team.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of electron optics, hands-on experience with alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology. They will be comfortable moving between modeling, bench work, and factory documentation, and possess excellent communication skills to turn complex optics into simple, teachable procedures.

This role involves owning the electron-optical column end-to-end, from source to detector coupling, delivering high-resolution, stable imaging with clean contrast across use-cases.

  • Architecting and aligning the column for high-resolution, low-drift performance is crucial.
  • Establishing practical tuning workflows for production and service is key.
  • Co-designing with Electronics to ensure deterministic beam control and with Software to expose intuitive imaging controls is essential.
  • Building and maintaining the calibration playbook - resolution, magnification, distortion - and training others to run it is vital.

The successful candidate will shape architecture and culture as part of the founding team, work hands-on, and ship a tool that moves research and industry forward.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Deep experience in electron optics is a must.
  • Hands-on experience with alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology is necessary.
  • Comfortable moving between modeling, bench work, and factory documentation is important.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
