Senior Data Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain our modern data platform.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement efficient, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data flows using various technologies such as Apache Spark and dbt.
  • Develop transformation models and orchestrate pipelines via Airflow for optimal performance.
  • Optimize large-scale processing jobs in Apache Spark and ensure data governance and quality control mechanisms are in place.
  • Tune and manage relational and analytical databases (PostgreSQL, Snowflake) for improved data integrity and scalability.
  • Architect and maintain schemas using Star Schema, 3NF, and SCD2 methodologies for enhanced data modeling.
  • Design and support lakehouse architectures and scalable storage solutions for seamless data integration.
  • Implement and enforce data governance, validation, and quality control mechanisms to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Maintain DevOps standards using CI/CD, GitFlow, and containerization tools like Docker and Ansible for efficient deployment and management.

Requirements:

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT design with strong experience in dbt, Airflow, and Spark.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling techniques including Star Schema, 3NF, and SCD2.
  • Proven ability to optimize and tune PostgreSQL and Snowflake for performance and data integrity.
  • Familiarity with lakehouse architecture principles and tools for scalable data storage and integration.
  • Solid experience in data governance, validation frameworks, and pipeline monitoring for reliable data delivery.
  • Strong grasp of GitFlow, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker/Ansible) for efficient deployment and management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams in a dynamic environment.
