About our client:

A leading Indian multinational corporation was seeking a highly skilled professional to fill a key role in their information technology (IT) department.

Job Title: Mainframe Tester

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a comprehensive test strategy document outlining the scope and approach of testing activities
  • Analyze project requirements, identifying relevant test scenarios and designing associated test cases
  • Prepare test data and job control language (JCL) according to defined test scenarios
  • Execute test cases by submitting jobs and analyzing results
  • Report issues and collaborate with development and support teams to resolve errors
  • Participate in continuous learning and upskilling initiatives

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of experience in testing life cycle processes
  • Familiarity with editing JCL or creating JCL to submit test batch jobs
  • Awareness of TSO/ISPF commands within mainframe environments
  • Strong analytical skills for logging and troubleshooting abended jobs
  • Ability to edit mainframe files using layouts and copybooks
  • Knowledge of software testing life cycle (STLC) methodologies
