HVAC Design Engineers design and develop heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial buildings. Their role involves performing load calculations, selecting equipment, designing ductwork and piping layouts, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and engineering. Proficiency in HVAC design software such as HAP, Trace 700, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Carrier E-20 is also essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing HVAC systems including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systems
  • Performing heat load calculations, cooling load calculations, and airflow analysis using software like HAP, Trace 700, or Carrier E-20
  • Selecting and sizing HVAC equipment (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, heat exchangers, pumps, etc.) based on project requirements
  • Designing ductwork, piping layouts, and control systems using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks
  • Ensuring designs comply with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and local building codes
  • Performing energy efficiency analysis and optimizing HVAC systems for cost and sustainability
  • Coordinating with MEP engineers, architects, and contractors for system integration
  • Preparing technical reports, specifications, and design documentation for project approvals
  • Assisting in tendering, cost estimation, and bid evaluations for HVAC systems
  • Supporting project execution by providing technical guidance during installation and commissioning

Preferred qualifications include certification in HVAC design (ASHRAE, LEED AP, or similar) and experience working on international projects.
