Job Description

As a Formulation and Quality Control Specialist for Animal Health Supplements, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing formulations for dog and cat syrups, tonics, and nutraceutical supplements. This role involves selecting suitable excipients, preservatives, flavors, and stabilizers that are safe for animals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Optimization: Design and optimize formulations for dog and cat syrups, tonics, and nutraceutical supplements.
  • Excipient Selection: Select suitable excipients, preservatives, flavors, and stabilizers that are safe for animals.

Production Supervision:

  • Lead small-scale batch preparation (mixing, filtration, filling, capping, labeling) for pet health supplements.
  • Train and guide the founder in step-by-step production.
  • Maintain hygiene and cleaning SOPs for pet product manufacturing.
Quality Control:
  • Conduct basic QC tests (pH, clarity, taste/palatability, viscosity, appearance) specific to dogs and cats supplements.
  • Approve/reject incoming raw materials (vitamins, minerals, herbal extracts for pets).
  • Maintain stability samples and quality records.
Compliance & Documentation:
  • Prepare and maintain Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs).
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines for nutraceuticals and veterinary supplements.
  • Act as the technical person for licensing and inspections.
Requirements:

Education: B.Pharm / M.Pharm (preferred) OR M.Sc. Chemistry / M.Sc. Food Technology / Veterinary Science / Nutraceuticals.

  • Experience: 2–5 years in pet health supplements / veterinary nutraceuticals / animal syrups or tonic manufacturing.
  • Must have hands-on experience in both formulation and QC for dogs and cats products.
Desired Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary nutraceutical ingredients.
  • Practical experience with syrup/tonic production process for animal products.
  • Ability to work independently and teach/mentor.
  • Familiarity with QC lab equipment.
  • Good documentation habits.
