Fixed Assets and R2R Analyst

As a key member of the Waste Management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the company's fixed assets portfolio. This includes processing and managing fixed assets transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and maintaining accurate accounting records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage fixed assets transactions, including capitalization, asset acquisitions, and asset retirements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of fixed assets sub-ledger, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments.
  • Run depreciation as per deadlines and verify depreciation postings for each business unit.
  • Prepare and submit fixed assets roll-forward.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX/internal control/statutory guidelines.
  • Perform monthly close R2R process activities, including accruals and amortization.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in fixed asset accounting with accounting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and previous experience in a shared services environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including departmental reporting, email, and vendor correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Knowledge of accounting software, database software, Outlook, Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment:

  • Normal setting for this job is an office setting.
  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity, such as keyboarding, machine operation, part of the work day.
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks, such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, rarely.
  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rarely.
