Operational Risk Consultant Expert for Wholesale Business Units

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Consultant Expert to join our team at Societe Generale Global Solution Centre. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your skills and expertise in operational risk management to drive business excellence.
Job DescriptionIn this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional results in operational risk management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the implementation of changes to the BU/SU's operational risk management framework;
- Ensuring excellence in delivery of missions under supervision, primarily understanding requirements and expectations, regular communication, adequate quality reviews, and adequacy of service provided to onshore partners;
- Striving to meet efficiency and compliance of the BU/SU's operational risk management systems;
- Evaluating risk standards and standards applied by BUs/SUs and requested exceptions;
- Supporting assessment of impact on third-party framework considering organizational changes, activities, IT systems, or new products;
- Reviewing significant business incidents with independent challenge of root cause analysis, action plan, and loss evaluation and preparing RISQ/NFR Incident Memo;
- Steering/participating in internal and business stakeholder governance meetings;
- Assisting RISQ/NFR UK in preparing/contributing to various risk committee information packs;
- Supporting RISQ NFR to drive their initiatives of Risk Management and General Management with vision, analysis, and opinions on risks of BU/SU's and their control;
- Showcasing autonomous delivery of assigned duties including planning, proactiveness;
- Understanding of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) knowledge to challenge RCSA done by LOD1 and support RISQ/NFR UK for delivering the UK LRE RCSA memos;
- Ability to perform rigorous analysis of Level 1 & 2 control framework;
- Conducting and presenting independent risk analysis on risk trends and emerging risks impacting entity;
- Challenging and analytical skills to give independent and relevant opinion on control framework or correct application of accounting standards;
- Working closely with UK RISQ/NFR team leads and escalating issues for resolutions when required;
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- 8-12 years of experience in Audit or Second Line of Defense (LOD2) or Operational Risk;
- A good knowledge of overall operational risk framework, such as TPRM (third party risk management); Internal incidents investigation and management; RCSA; scenario assessment including stressing testing; operational resilience, Fraud risks, risk acceptance; NPC (new product oversight), Risk issue management and KRIs (key risk indicators);
- Experience in developing and documenting governance processes supporting operational risk frameworks;
- Experience in conducting risk reviews on business activities or thematic topic related to business risk independently;
- Good understanding of Wholesale BUs/SUs, inherent risks they generate, and best practice control frameworks;
- Solid understanding of various Business and Support Units operating in Financial Institution;
- Strong knowledge of risk management, specifically on operational risks and good knowledge of business risks, related to market activities (FO, MO and BO);
- A good knowledge including Credit, Market and Counterparty Credit, Model, Liquidity and Structural risks will be a plus;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office skills primarily Word/PPT/Excel;
- Knowledge and user experience of Power BI will be a plus;
- Knowledge of IS/IT will be a plus;
- Knowledge of UK/EU regulations (e.g., EMIR, MiFIDII etc.) will be a plus.
The salary for this role is estimated to be around €80,000 - €120,000 per year, depending on experience.
