Technical Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our production support team. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise in Java/J2 EE, JMS, JBoss EAP, Red Hat Linux, and middleware troubleshooting.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing level 3 production support for enterprise Java applications on JBoss EAP
  • Troubleshooting application and middleware issues, including thread dumps, heap dumps, GC logs, and JMS messaging systems
  • Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and developing permanent solutions for recurring production issues
  • Leading incident and problem management efforts, including major incident escalations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in Java/J2 EE application support and development
  • Deep understanding of JMS, message queues and topics, durable and non-durable subscriptions, message selectors, and asynchronous messaging patterns
  • Strong skills in JBoss EAP installation, configuration, tuning, deployment, and administration
  • Experience with shell scripting for automation, log parsing, and alerting
  • Java/J2 EE, REST/SOAP, JDBC, SQL knowledge, and experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as Splunk, App Dynamics, ELK, and Dynatrace
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
