Senior Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to integrate cutting-edge natural language processing (NLP) technologies into our ecosystem and design intelligent assistants and agents that augment various workflows, including CI/CD pipelines, knowledge retrieval, incident handling, and developer productivity.

  • Design and Optimize Prompts: Create effective prompts for large language models (LLMs) to ensure accuracy and relevance in diverse use cases.
  • Build RAG Pipelines: Develop robust Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using vector databases such as FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate, or Qdrant.
  • Integrate LLMs: Seamlessly integrate LLMs into internal tools, CI/CD dashboards, and observability platforms.
  • Implement GenAI Solutions: Leverage LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack, Hugging Face, and other frameworks to develop innovative GenAI solutions.
  • Fine-Tune LLMs: Tailor open-source or commercial LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Cohere, Mistral) to suit specific domain requirements.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with DevOps and platform teams to drive automation and improve workflow efficiency through GenAI.
  • Ethical AI Practices: Ensure data privacy, governance, and adhere to ethical AI standards in all projects.
Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with hands-on experience in GenAI, LLMs, and NLP. Strong Python skills are required, along with proficiency in LangChain, Hugging Face, and LlamaIndex. A deep understanding of vector databases and embeddings is essential. Proven experience in designing and deploying RAG architectures is also required. Experience integrating LLM APIs from vendors like OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, etc. is highly valued.

Requirements

The following qualifications are necessary for success in this role:

  • 6-10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years of hands-on expertise in GenAI, LLMs, and NLP.
  • Strong Python skills, with proficiency in LangChain, Hugging Face, and LlamaIndex.
  • Deep understanding of vector databases and embeddings.
  • Proven experience in designing and deploying RAG architectures.
  • Experience integrating LLM APIs from vendors like OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, etc.
Nice to Have

The following qualities are not essential but would be beneficial for the role:

  • Knowledge of multi-modal models and fine-tuning LLMs.
  • Understanding of developer-facing GenAI use cases, such as infra-as-code review, changelog generation, and log triage.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, GitOps, and DevSecOps.

This is a contractor role offering a hybrid work model, with the option to work from any Xebia location. Immediate joiners or those with a maximum two-week notice period are preferred.
