Enterprise IT Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade virtualization platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in virtualization technologies, Linux administration, performance optimization, and troubleshooting across large-scale environments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Virtualization Platform Management: Install, configure, and manage virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V, Xen, or OpenStack).
  • Linux Server Administration: Deploy and administer Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE) in virtualized and bare-metal environments.
  • Virtual Infrastructure Design: Design and implement virtual infrastructure for high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Storage Integration: Manage storage integration (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS) with virtual platforms.
  • Troubleshooting and Monitoring: Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot virtual machines, hosts, and clusters.
  • Automation: Automate provisioning and configuration using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for virtualized workloads.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with application, network, and security teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Documentation and Support: Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and provide L2/L3 level support.
  • Required Skills & Experience:
  • Virtualization Platforms: VMware vSphere/ESXi, KVM, Hyper-V, Xen, OpenStack (any combination).
  • Linux Administration: Strong experience with RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE.
  • Scripting and Automation: Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Storage and Backup: Knowledge of vSAN, vVols, NFS, iSCSI, Veeam, or similar backup tools.
  • Networking: VLANs, virtual switches, load balancing, firewalls in virtualized environments.
  • Performance Tuning: VM sizing, CPU/memory/storage optimization, kernel tuning.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills in complex multi-vendor environments.
  • Certifications: RHCSA/RHCE, VCP (VMware Certified Professional), Red Hat Virtualization, or equivalent.
  • Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: 3–8 years of experience in virtualization and Linux administration.
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience in enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
