Job Title: Cybersecurity Network Expert

Achieve excellence as a high-calibre network security engineer with our organisation.

This role requires you to manage and own support tickets about existing customer services. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of technical expertise in all aspects of the job.

  • Design and implement changes as per the client's requirements, ensuring optimal solutions are always achieved.
  • Work closely with the 2nd Line Service Desk team and the Solution Delivery team to provide seamless support to customers and configuration tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional communication, both verbal and written, with existing customers, building strong relationships and trust.
  • Take ownership and effectively manage support tickets for incidents, change, and service requests, utilising your analytical skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Plan and complete projects assigned by the Head of 3rd Line Network Support, delivering results that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Develop documented customer solutions, including CMDB, Visio documentation, and technical summary write-ups.
  • Conduct DR/Failover Testing to ensure business continuity.
  • Support and mentor 2nd Line engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to enhance their skills.
  • Collaborate with the solution delivery team to provide resources for supporting the configuration and implementation of new customer projects.
  • Participate in an on-call rota out of hours for high-priority incidents, demonstrating your commitment to delivering excellent service.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable knowledge at CCNP (ENT/DC/SP/SEC) or JNCIP-ENT level, showcasing your advanced networking capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting network security devices/protocols, ensuring the highest levels of security and compliance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and isolate faults to identify root causes and bring to resolution, applying logical reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of layer 2 and 3 protocols, with a focus on OSPF and BGP in an ISP environment.
  • Experience using firewalls such as Palo Alto, FortiGate, and Cisco ASA, including configuration and troubleshooting access lists, NAT, IPSec, and SSL VPNs.
  • Familiarity with Cloud products such as Azure / Amazon AWS.
  • Experience working within a Managed Service Provider Environment.
  • Minimum Basic experience with network automation/programming such as Ansible/Python.
