Respiratory Care Specialist Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare organization, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care services to patients with various conditions.

  • Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory conditions, develop individualized care plans, and provide ongoing support to ensure optimal health outcomes.
  • Diagnostic Testing and Procedures: Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, such as bronchoscopy and pulmonary function tests (PFTs), to diagnose and manage respiratory conditions.
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and lifestyle recommendations.
  • Critical Care Management: Manage critically ill patients in the ICU with respiratory failure or other severe respiratory conditions, utilizing mechanical ventilation and close monitoring as needed.
  • Consultation and Education: Provide expert advice to colleagues on respiratory-related matters and educate patients and families on self-management techniques.
  • Record Keeping and Communication: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charts, ensuring effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Key Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Experience in critical care settings.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of respiratory therapy principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
