Job Specifications:
- Experience: 2-3 Years
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing), GNM, MSc, or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing registration and license from the appropriate regulatory body
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
Key Responsibility & Accountability
- Provide Nursing Care: Provide direct and comprehensive care to neonates in the NICU, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety. Monitor vital signs, administer medications, perform treatments, and carry out interventions as prescribed by physicians.
- Assess and Monitor: Conduct thorough assessments of neonates, including physical and developmental assessments, and monitor their progress throughout their stay in the NICU. Recognize and promptly report any changes in the condition of the neonates.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for neonates. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, providing input and updating the team on the neonates' status.
- Family Education and Support: Educate and support parents and family members regarding neonatal care, including feeding techniques, medication administration, hygiene, and developmental care. Foster a supportive and compassionate environment for families in the NICU.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, standards, and legal regulations regarding documentation.
- Infection Control and Safety: Follow strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for neonates. Adhere to safety guidelines and monitor equipment for proper functioning. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with current practices, research, and evidence-based guidelines in neonatal nursing. Attend workshops, conferences, and training programs to enhance knowledge and skills. Engage in continuous professional development.
- Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives in the NICU, participate in audits, and implement strategies to enhance patient outcomes and patient satisfaction
