As a Senior Optics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing India's first commercial Scanning Electron Microscope.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to own the electron-optical column end-to-end, from source to detector coupling. You will be responsible for delivering high-resolution, stable imaging with clean contrast across various use cases.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and Align the Column: Ensure high-resolution, low-drift performance by establishing practical tuning workflows for production and service.
  • Translate Optics Theory into Reality: Convert theoretical knowledge into tolerances, calibration routines, and alignment jigs that are repeatable outside the lab.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with Electronics and Software teams to ensure deterministic beam control and intuitive imaging controls.
  • Maintain Calibration Playbook: Develop and maintain a comprehensive playbook for resolution, magnification, and distortion, and train others to run it effectively.
What We're Looking For:
  • Deep Expertise in Electron Optics: Proven experience in alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology.
  • Multidisciplinary Skills: Comfortable working with modeling tools, bench work, and factory documentation.
  • Clear Communication: Ability to explain complex optics concepts in simple, teachable procedures.
Measuring Success:
  • Consistent High-Resolution Images: Achieve consistent high-resolution images with minimal retuning.
  • Repeatable Calibration: Ensure repeatable calibration across builds and over time.
  • Fast Diagnosis and Recovery: Quickly diagnose and recover when alignment drifts.
