Job Title: Marine Training Director

About the Job:
The primary area of focus for this role will be continuous development and improvement of external and internal training programs. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Developing and improving seafarer training programs organised by external and internal stakeholders to support business objectives.
  2. BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS with main training service providers across the regions under scope.
  3. Selecting appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individual training, group instruction, self-study courses, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role play and computer-based training.
  4. Organizing and developing training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids and other educational material.
  5. Supporting the development of training content in coordination with Global Marine Training Manager
  6. Maintaining local training budget and costs and providing feedback on consolidated spend.
  7. Gathering local market intelligence (Training Programs Availability) and providing input into the Marine HR strategy and development team.
  8. Monitoring seafers performance across the fleet and identifying training needs by coordinating with Marine people Team, Fleet and Marine Operations.

This is a key leadership role that requires strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and ability to take on a holistic perspective to deliver on global needs despite being committed locally. The ideal candidate should have a graduate degree or sailing experience with good communication skills, data-driven approach, stakeholder management skills and inclusion and diversity skills. The selected candidate must be able to influence without authority and drive performance and achieve results.
