Job Title: Medicinal Chemistry Specialist

This is a highly challenging role that involves performing synthetic chemistry reactions and handling various chemical compounds in a safe and controlled environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting observations, following instructions from supervisors, and working efficiently as part of a team or individually.

  • ">
  • Perform synthetic chemistry reactions, reaction workups, and purification of compounds using column chromatography, crystallization, and re-crystallization techniques.">
  • Ensure that samples generated during synthesis are properly analyzed and recorded, with subsequent results obtained and updated to the supervisor or group leader on progress.">
  • Document all experiments, reactions, results, resource utilization, and other activities related to the reaction in a laboratory notebook or electronic note-taking system, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to safety guidelines.">
  • Regularly inspect and maintain lab equipment, ensuring it's calibrated, undergoes preventive maintenance, and remains clean before use. Report any malfunctions or breakdowns to maintenance personnel promptly.">
  • Be aware of MSDS information regarding chemicals handled and know emergency response procedures in case of accidental spills, leaks, or fires. Ensure proper waste segregation according to EHS norms.">
  • Always follow established EHS and quality systems requirements, prioritizing individual safety and lab safety. Attend all mandatory trainings, update training records accordingly, and adhere to confidentiality agreements.">

Successful candidates should possess:

  • ">
  • A minimum of 2 to 12 years of experience in medicinal chemistry or related fields.">
  • Strong familiarity with concepts of chemical synthesis and operations of relevant apparatus, instruments, and equipment.">
  • Hold a degree in M Sc, M Pharma, or Ph D in Organic Chemistry.">
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.">
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to changing priorities.">
