Job Title: Network Specialist

About the Role:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Specialist to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of switching, routing, and network equipment.
  • They will be responsible for managing all network activities at data centres and disaster recovery sites, including installations, upgrades, migrations, incident management, performance tuning, reporting, and patching.
  • Our network specialist will work on leaf and spine architecture in data centres and be skilled in monitoring networks with tools such as Cisco IOS, PRTG, NetFlow, etc.
  • They will also manage large-scale data centre networks, configure and troubleshoot layer 2 protocols such as VLANs, private VLANs, VTP, STP, DTP, trunking, stacking, Ethernet channel, DOT1Q, ISL, SVI, etc.
  • In addition, they will configure IPsec tunnels between locations, configure and troubleshoot layer 3 protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, static routing, high availability protocols (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP), floating static routing, failover, etc.
  • The successful candidate will also support IPv4, IPv6, NTP, ACLs, route-maps, prefix-lists, PBR, AAA, TACACS, RADIUS, CEF, IPv6 CEF, SLA, track, SNMP, EEM, syslog, flow-export, radio, EVPN-VXLAN.
  • They will configure and troubleshoot network load balancers, data centre core switching and routing upgrade and maintenance, manage router access control, fault-manage routers and switches, resolve faults to ensure high network uptime, troubleshoot and debug problems, deploy monitoring tools for identifying problem areas and early rectifications if required.
  • Furthermore, they will fine-tune networks for optimal availability, check regular functioning of networks and assets deployed, be well-versed with EMS tools, manage incident, change and configuration management, IOS upgradation, change request management.
  • They will also investigate network issues of DR in liaison with his DR team member.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Deep understanding of switching, routing and network equipment.
  • Experience in managing all network activities at data centres and disaster recovery sites.
  • Skilled in monitoring networks with tools such as Cisco IOS, PRTG, NetFlow, etc.
  • Knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 protocols.
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot network load balancers, data centre core switching and routing upgrade and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Well-versed with EMS tools.
