We help organizations protect their cloud environment by continuously evaluating new threats and risks. Using advanced AI techniques, Averlon assists organizations in mitigating high-priority threats quickly, allowing engineers to focus on innovation and customer value.

As a Cloud Security Specialist - Azure Defender, you will have the opportunity to shape our product through your research. You will help the engineering team identify current and novel threats in a scalable fashion.

Our team has expertise in software engineering, data analytics, AI/ML processing, distributed services, and real-time monitoring. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth security research and penetration testing on cloud environments, focusing on Azure, to identify vulnerabilities and potential attack vectors.
  • Perform application-level and infrastructure-level penetration testing to assess security posture.
  • Develop and maintain secure environments using IaC tools like Terraform/CloudFormation/ARM to simulate attacks and research security flaws.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security best practices for cloud environments.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies specific to public cloud platforms.
  • Analyze security incidents and conduct post-mortem analyses to prevent future occurrences.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings, including proof-of-concept exploits and remediation strategies.
  • Mentor junior security researchers and provide guidance on cloud security best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Public Cloud Security Expertise: Strong knowledge of public cloud environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure security architecture, services, and best practices.
  • Penetration Testing Experience: Proven experience in conducting penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and red teaming exercises for both applications and infrastructure.
  • IaC Proficiency: Proficiency in writing scripts and templates using Terraform and/or CloudFormation/ARM to simulate attacks in controlled environments.
  • Application and Infrastructure Security: Deep understanding of application security, web application firewalls, and infrastructure security concepts, including network, host, and database security.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of various penetration testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Burp Suite, Metasploit, OWASP ZAP, nmap).
  • Programming and Scripting Skills: Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation and exploitation.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to think like an attacker to anticipate, simulate, and mitigate security threats.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
