Job Opportunity: Database Expert

We are seeking a skilled database expert with strong expertise in database programming and PostgreSQL to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in writing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers, along with exposure to Azure PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain PL/pgSQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, packages, and cursors.
  • Query Optimization: Write, analyze, and optimize complex SQL queries, including joins, sub-queries, and merge operations.
  • Data Analysis and Performance Tuning: Perform data analysis, query tuning, and indexing for performance optimization in Azure PostgreSQL.
  • Data Loading and Automation: Automate and manage data loads using Pgloader and other scripting methods.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database solutions align with business requirements.
  • Automation and Best Practices: Work on shell scripting and Linux-based automation for database-related tasks and ensure best practices for database performance, security, and reliability.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Primary Skills: PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, strong DB knowledge.
  • Secondary Skills: Shell scripting and Linux.
  • Hands-on Development Experience: Hands-on development experience in PL/pgSQL stored procedures, triggers, cursors, functions, and packages.
  • SQL Query Expertise: Strong understanding of SQL query design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Azure PostgreSQL Expertise: Experience with Azure PostgreSQL, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Data Load Automation Tools: Exposure to data load automation tools (Pgloader preferred).
