Job Overview

Lead large-scale renewable energy asset construction and commissioning projects from site execution to handover, ensuring timely delivery with zero tolerance for safety risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop detailed Site Execution Plans, including work breakdown structures, resource schedules, and logistics strategies.
  2. Conduct pre-construction surveys, risk assessments, and readiness reviews to anticipate site constraints.
  3. Establish on-site offices, procure equipment, materials, and staffing in collaboration with procurement and HR teams.
Project Execution & Quality Management:
  1. Direct civil, mechanical, electrical, and SCADA works, ensuring adherence to design specifications, contractual requirements, and industry codes.
  2. Implement and enforce the Project Quality Assurance Plan; manage NCR tracking, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  3. Oversee EPC contractor performance, certify progress invoices, and validate 'as-built' documentation for handover.
Commissioning & Handover:
  1. Coordinate pre-commissioning, SAT, and commissioning activities with vendors, grid operators, and Owner's Engineer to satisfy technical and lender requirements.
  2. Secure Completion Certificates, bay energization approvals, and final grid synchronization.
  3. Manage punch-list closure, prepare O&M handover packages, and ensure knowledge transfer to O&M teams.
Health, Safety, and Environment:
  1. Champion a zero-tolerance safety culture, conduct site audits, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
  2. Enforce compliance with corporate HSE standards, local labour laws, and environmental regulations; maintain HSE registers and reporting dashboards.
Stakeholder & Regulatory Liaison:
  1. Interface with local authorities, utilities, landowners, and community representatives to secure site access, permits, and clearances.
  2. Facilitate inspections by lenders' technical advisors, statutory bodies, and third-party auditors; address observations promptly.
Financial & Reporting Controls:
  1. Monitor project budgets, track cost variances, and implement mitigation measures; review subcontractor claims and change orders.
  2. Deliver weekly/monthly status updates covering progress, forecasts, risks, and mitigation plans to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of experience in construction management of large-scale renewable or power transmission projects in India.

The successful candidate must possess hands-on experience with EPC contracting models, quality systems, and commissioning of 33/132/220 kV substations and transmission lines. Strong analytical problem-solving skills, adaptability, and resilience are essential for success in this dynamic environment.
