Job Description

The role of Assistant Manager involves overseeing various aspects of the procurement process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and finalizing day-to-day procurement of coal beneficiation plant operational purchases.
  • Ensuring strategic negotiation and approval for indenting of various materials and finalization of purchase orders.
Contract Management

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for:

  • Finalizing BOQs, issuing tender documents, analyzing, and evaluating tenders to award work contracts for supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of turnkey job works related to mechanical, electrical, civil works, manpower supply, plumbing, and various civil site contracts.
  • Preparing and finalizing rate contracts for regular required materials during project operation and looking after work contracts related to bulk fabrications, erections, machining, and repairing works for different locations/cost centers.
  • Awarding rate contracts related to transportation of various raw materials and dispatch of finished goods from plant to different customers.
  • Finalizing rates for stuffing containers at plant premises and container termination stations for shipment, subject to terms and conditions.
Vendor Development

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for:

  • Selecting suppliers and managing supplier relationships for local categories.
  • Providing assistance to the tendering team with reference to current and future projected procurement costs.
  • Ensuring that procurement values remain well within specified budgets.
Export Documentation & Logistic Management

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for:

  • Guiding and monitoring the preparation of shipment documentation.
  • Negotiating and awarding transport rate contracts for bulk logistics through different modes (road transport, rail loading by railways, custom house agents from Vizag Seaport and Paradeep Port).
  • Monitoring liaisoning works for raw material permissions from DDM Office.
  • Presenting MIS reports for incoming raw materials and dispatched finished goods.
Computer Skills

The ideal candidate should have experience in SAP/MM system, computer tool basis AutoCAD, MS office, and Outlook.
