Job Title: Academic Advisor

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Academic Advisor. As a key member of our student support services, you will play a crucial role in guiding students through their academic journey in our innovative degree programs.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on providing high-quality customer service. They will be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, remote work environment.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting students to succeed in their studies. If you are a motivated and organized individual with a strong understanding of academic policies and procedures, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide personalized academic advising to students, helping them understand their degree programs, course options, and academic requirements.

  2. Manage a high volume of student inquiries via email, virtual meetings, and online communication platforms.

  3. Assist students with course selection, registration, and academic planning to ensure timely progression towards their degree completion.

  4. C Coordinate and conduct virtual workshops and webinars on academic skills, career planning, and time management to drive enrollment.

  5. Collaborate with faculty and staff to address student concerns and enhance their academic experience.

  6. Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, academic progress, and support provided.

  7. Participate in student retention and success initiatives to improve overall academic outcomes.

  8. Utilize student management systems to track and manage student data and communications.

  9. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices in academic counseling, and changes in academic policies.

  10. Support the onboarding and training of new academic counselors as needed.

  11. Collaborate with admissions and enrollment teams to ensure a smooth transition for new students into their academic programs.

  12. Meet or exceed established targets for student enrollment, academic progress, and retention rates.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in academic advising in edtech companies
  • Strong understanding of academic policies, procedures, and best practices in student support
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on providing high-quality customer service
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, remote work environment
  • Proficiency in academic management systems and virtual communication tools
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while being an effective part of a collaborative team
  • Commitment to student success and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by online learners
