Job Title: Senior Software Architect - Java Technology Specialist

This role focuses on leading the design and implementation of new software functionality for use in multi-tier, web-based products.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Java, Spring, Git, GitHub, Maven, AWS, and one or more major RDBMS, preferably Postgres.

A strong problem-solving skillset and ability to work effectively in a shared team environment are essential requirements.


Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new software functionality for use in multi-tier, web-based products.
  • Work at multiple layers in the technology stack, including DB, Application Layer, and UI Layer.
  • Develop software using Java, Python, or other appropriate languages.
  • Work with Amazon Web Services and cloud technologies, such as Docker, Nomad, and Terraform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, highly performant, and robust software delivery within agreed time estimates and quality standards.
  • Participate in estimation exercises that inform product roadmaps and plans.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Strong development experience with Java, Spring.
  • Extensive experience with Git, GitHub, Maven, AWS, and one or more major RDBMS, preferably Postgres.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to show flexibility and reach compromise where necessary.
  • Proven experience working with Agile SDLC methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Willingness to take ownership for assigned aspects of projects and proven ability to work constructively in a shared team environment.
  • Primary or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Full Professional Proficiency of English.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in banking and associated financial industries.
  • Familiarity with Linux and system engineering concepts.
  • Knowledge or experience in various programming languages, APIs, and tools, such as Java, RESTful APIs, Open API, Nomad, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Helm, Gradle, and Clojure.
