Cloud Database Professional Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced database expert to play a key role in upgrading, migrating, and maintaining mission-critical databases. The ideal candidate will ensure performance, availability, security, and scalability of our cloud-based systems.

  • The successful candidate will lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022.
  • They will design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments.
  • Responsibilities will include planning and implementing database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) with minimal downtime.
  • The DBA will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance (queries, indexes, statistics, execution plans).
  • Regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing will be performed.
  • Collaboration with application and infrastructure teams will ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  • The DBA will develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Security standards, policies, and best practices will be ensured.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions).
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell or automation tools for database administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
