Key Role: Technical Architect

A senior member of the UNIX Infrastructure Services team is required to lead and support colleagues in delivering a high-quality Unix platform for development teams.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Developing self-service solutions to offer as part of our Unix platform
  • Creating automated tests and monitoring to ensure all aspects of our platform work as expected
  • Providing top-notch support for teams who use our platform
  • Handling service requests, incidents and changes to keep the platform running smoothly
  • Offering thoughtful consultancy to development teams to help them make best use of our platform
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience architecting and building new services with high availability and performance
  • Leadership experience and ability to mentor colleagues
  • Excellent communication skills with problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of Unix system administration, particularly RHEL
  • Good knowledge of Unix automation tools including scripting and configuration management systems (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge of AIX and Solaris operating systems
  • Particular knowledge of VMWare, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible, Postgres or Veritas products
