Job Summary

The role of Storage and Backup Specialist is crucial in ensuring seamless data availability, integrity, and recoverability across all systems. This position plays a vital part in supporting business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure, administer, and troubleshoot IBM FlashSystem 7300 and IBM SVC environments to ensure high-performance storage solutions.
  • Manage and optimize NetApp C Series storage arrays by provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning for efficient data storage.
  • Develop and maintain data replication strategies using IBM replication technologies and NetApp for reliable data protection.
  • Design, implement, and manage Veritas NetBackup 11 solutions to provide comprehensive backup and recovery capabilities.
  • Administer and troubleshoot NetBackup FlexScale and NetBackup Flex Appliances to ensure smooth data backup and restore processes.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Brocade SAN switches to ensure uninterrupted network connectivity.

A strong knowledge of Inter-Switch Links (ISL) configuration and optimization is required. The candidate must be able to execute switch replacements and upgrades with minimal downtime.

Essential Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
  • Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Storage Administrator.
  • Strong expertise in IBM Storage: IBM FlashSystem 7300 and IBM SVC.
  • Strong expertise in NetApp Storage: NetApp C Series and SnapMirror replication.
  • Strong expertise in Veritas NetBackup 11: Including NetBackup FlexScale and NetBackup Flex Appliances.
  • Proven experience with Brocade SAN switches: Including ISL configuration and switch replacement procedures.

A solid understanding of Fibre Channel protocols, zoning, and multipathing is also essential. Experience with performance analysis and tuning of storage systems is desirable.
