Import Logistics Specialist

The Import Logistics Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring seamless import processes. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Document Preparation: Prepare Export Invoices, Packing Lists, and Bills of Lading (BL) as required.
  • Insurance Certificates: Generate Insurance Certificates through online portals and maintain sufficient insured amounts.
  • Hazardous Cargo Handling: Handle hazardous cargo efficiently, including Haz Class, Packing Groups, and Dangerous Goods Declarations.
  • Communication and Coordination: Coordinate with factories, customs brokers, forwarders, transporters, shipping lines, and customers for all logistics-related matters.
  • Negotiations: Negotiate air or sea freight rates with forwarders, shipping lines, or customs brokers.
  • Verification and Approval: Verify and approve SB Checklists, BOE Checklists, AWB Drafts, and BL Drafts.
  • Flight/Vessel Booking: Book flights or vessels in coordination with freight forwarders.
  • Courier Shipments: Arrange courier shipments through DHL or FedEx.
  • Letter of Credit Knowledge: Understand Letter of Credit (LC) shipments and their requirements.
  • SCOMET and Narcotics Compliance: Ensure regular reviews and understanding of SCOMET and Narcotics regulations for every shipment.
  • Customer Queries Resolution: Resolve customer queries promptly and efficiently.
  • Transport Arrangements: Arrange FCL shipments and factory stuffing.
  • COO Applications: Apply for Preferential and Non-preferential COOs online.
  • Multiples Shipment Handling: Handle multiple shipments simultaneously with efficiency.
  • Shipment Documents: Send final shipment documents to customers and track cargo until delivery.
  • Accurate Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate records for all export shipments, including up-to-date EGM and RODTEP benefit status.
  • RODTEP Scrip Generation: Understand RODTEP scrip generation and other DGFT/ICEGATE applications.
  • Packing Arrangements: Arrange relevant packing considering the nature of shipments, especially for dangerous goods.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, including HS codes, tariffs, and taxes.
  • Reports and Records: Maintain accurate records and reports, including import data and compliance documents.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, such as logistics, finance, and procurement, to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay updated on changes in import/export regulations and company policies.
