AI Application Engineering Intern – Backend

This exciting opportunity will challenge you to design and build scalable, AI-driven backend services. You will work directly with the founding team to develop APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure that seamlessly integrate with modern AI workflows.

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript and at least one backend language such as Node.js, Go, Rust, or Python. They should also have experience with API development, databases, or distributed applications through projects, coursework, or internships.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and refining gRPC or REST APIs, connecting backend services to LLM-based workflows and multi-agent systems, designing schemas and pipelines for structured data storage and retrieval, and containerizing and deploying services using Docker and related tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and refine gRPC or REST APIs in Node.js, TypeScript, Go, Rust, or Python
  • Connect backend services to LLM-based workflows and multi-agent systems
  • Design schemas and pipelines for structured data storage and retrieval
  • Containerize and deploy services using Docker and related tooling
  • Set up CI/CD pipelines and contribute to DevOps workflows for backend and evaluation systems
  • Contribute to architectural design for scalable, multi-agent AI applications

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript and at least one backend language such as Node.js, Go, Rust, or Python
  • Experience with API development, databases, or distributed applications through projects, coursework, or internships
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Git, and command-line workflows
  • Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Interest in working with LLMs and building AI-powered applications
  • Some understanding of architectural design principles for distributed or multi-agent systems
