Job Title: Wind Energy Specialist

The role of a Wind Energy Specialist involves simulating the site-specific benefit of our upgrade portfolio, while verifying the structural integrity of installed wind turbines. This requires working in a global and cross-functional team, serving as an interface between customers, various Service regions, and headquarter functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reassess existing/planned wind farms to confirm compatibility of upgrades and structural integrity using internal tool chains.
  • Assess site-specific wind conditions, apply mechanical load mitigation strategies, run bucket approaches, evaluate lifetime extension possibilities, obtain approval processes, and create reports.
  • Support upgrades sales by creating benefit calculations, driving validation campaigns, and initiating implementation of upgrades.
  • Collaborate with global service regions and after-sales colleagues to convince customers and stakeholders, enabling successful product sales.
  • Contribute measurably to the business performance of the global Service business unit.
  • Establish a large network within the company and industry to stay updated on new technological developments.
  • Represent the team in strategic discussions and development decision meetings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field.
  • Completed university studies in Engineering (B.E or equivalent) or Business/Economics degree with a strong technical background.
  • 5-10 years of experience in wind & site assessments, mechanical loads department, or equal technical service organizations in the wind energy industry.
  • Highly analytical with a holistic approach and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-driven, focused, and pragmatic, with demonstrated ability to bring topics to success in a complex environment.
  • Optional knowledge in wind turbine technology (site assessment, wind turbine control, load calculation, aerodynamics, etc.).
  • Optional WindPRO and Python experience.
  • Fluent in English, with German being an advantage.
