Job Title: Operations and Claims Specialist

Role Summary:
- Monitor and manage all legal issues related to claims and business matters. Handle all types of recovery actions, including outstanding payments, detention, demurrage, abandoned containers, and other costs recoverable from third parties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and acknowledge receipt of claims within 24 hours of receipt.
- Collect relevant documents and report to the Head Office on all claims within 24 hours. Provide advice on claim merits and recommended next steps.
- Assist in managing Head Office claims and supporting colleagues in handling claims and court cases until resolution.
- Manage P&I-related matters, such as cargo claims, stowage, and general average.
- Handle third-party damages to company containers and cargo, including stevedore damages, and ensure prompt reserves are taken against these parties.
- Implement Debt Recovery processes in accordance with NCLT tribunal guidelines. Draft and review various Service Agreements, MOUs, Letters of Intent, and other business agreements.
- Ensure implementation of procedures implemented by the Head Office Legal Department across the network. Provide guidance to branch offices on handling potential legal matters.
- Offer legal advice and support to other departments on shipping-related issues.
- Handle loss of OB/L cases and apply Bank Guarantee procedures as per Head Office Documentation Department guidelines.
- Prepare monthly reports highlighting key issues requiring attention.
Requirements:
- Minimum graduate degree
- At least 5+ years of experience in the shipping industry, preferably with Cargo/Marine claims experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills, good reporting skills, trouble shooting abilities, and proficiency in MS-Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint
