MEP CAD Technician

The MEP CAD Technician plays a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health services by producing accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models.

This technician works closely with engineers, designers, and project teams to ensure coordinated, detailed, and compliant documentation that supports efficient project execution. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing precise 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems in AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM).
  • Collaborating with MEP Engineers and Designers to translate design concepts into coordinated drawings.
  • Ensuring drawings comply with project requirements, building regulations, industry standards, and company protocols.
  • Assisting in the development of coordinated services drawings, clash detection, and model updates.
  • Maintaining drawing registers, file management systems, and revision control.
  • Supporting project teams in producing tender, construction, and as-built drawings.

Key qualifications and skills include:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential) and Revit MEP/BIM (desired).
  • Experience in preparing MEP drawings and understanding of building services design.
  • Familiarity with British Standards, Building Regulations, and industry codes of practice.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

Desirable skills include experience with Navisworks, clash detection, or other BIM coordination tools.
