**Job Overview:**Senior GIS Data Migration Specialist plays a pivotal role in leading and executing complex GIS data migration projects, leveraging expertise in Utility Network implementations.Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Migration Lead: Spearhead GIS data migration projects with meticulous focus on Utility Network deployments.
  • FME Workspace Design: Conceptualize, design, and optimize FME workspaces to streamline geospatial data migration, transformation, and automation processes.
  • Data Migration Strategies: Develop and implement data migration strategies for seamless transitions from legacy network models to modern ArcGIS Utility Network or other utility GIS platforms.
  • Utility Dataset Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of utility datasets (electric, water, gas, telecom) to ensure accurate schema mapping and topology validation.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with project managers, business analysts, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
  • Data Integrity Maintenance: Ensure the integrity, quality, and performance of data across migration workflows.
  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve complex migration and integration issues efficiently.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior team members in FME, GIS data migration, and Utility Network best practices.
  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation for workflows, processes, and project delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • GIS Expertise: Minimum 7 years of experience in GIS, with at least 3 years of hands-on expertise in FME.
  • Utility Network Modeling: Strong background in Utility Network modeling and migration (ArcGIS Utility Network or equivalent).
  • GIS Data Migration: Proven track record in GIS data migration and transformation projects within the utilities domain.
  • Spatial Database Proficiency: Proficiency in spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, SQL Server Spatial, etc.).
  • Geospatial Standards: In-depth understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geospatial standards (OGC, ISO).
  • Enterprise GIS Platforms: Strong knowledge of ArcGIS, QGIS, Smallworld, or other enterprise GIS platforms.
  • Performance Optimization: Experience working with large utility datasets and performance optimization techniques.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have:
  • Cloud-Based GIS: Familiarity with cloud-based GIS platforms (ArcGIS Online, AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Scripting Experience: Scripting experience with Python or SQL for data automation in FME.
  • Data Governance: Exposure to data governance and compliance frameworks.
