Golf Editor Position

EssentiallySports is seeking a Golf editor to join our vibrant editorial team. We're a leading sports entertainment digital media publication with a growing presence and an appetite for excellence.

We value editors who possess the highest level of authority when it comes to creating engaging content for our millions of readers. As part of our editorial team, your primary responsibility will be to verify the accuracy of statistical data and facts, proofread articles, and enhance their quality before publication.

The ideal candidate will be an avid Golf enthusiast or have a keen interest in understanding the sport's nuances. You'll need to have a good grasp of English language fundamentals and be accustomed to American culture. Additionally, you should be quick-witted when fact-checking and enhancing the editorial quality of content.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Actively editing and publishing 20-25 articles daily.
  • Proofreading articles to ensure no avoidable errors remain and checking plagiarism before publication.
  • Researching to ensure the veracity of facts and eliminating incorrect claims.
  • Publishing articles in a timely fashion for priority news-based articles.
  • Mentoring and guiding writers to refine their quality, output, and overall performance.
  • Ensuring smooth daily operations of writers in the Golf division.
  • Undertaking other key duties as instructed by the Editorial Team Lead.

To excel in this position, you'll require:

  • A minimum of 6-12 months of experience in proofreading and/or content editing.
  • Prior experience leading a team of writers would be beneficial.
