RTL Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define system and board architecture based on customer requirements, specifications, and tender enquiries.
  • Own projects from concept to delivery, including risk identification, dependency management, mitigation planning, project schedule tracking, customer discussions, and design reviews.
  • Partition algorithms for FPGA and/or SW implementation, identifying building blocks and signal processing functions.
  • Provide estimates on FPGA resources, computation bandwidth, and memory bandwidth.
  • Create module-level details from architecture, coding, simulation, and peer reviews, applying design, verification, and validation methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain project-related documentation, especially design documents with detailed analysis reports.
  • Support customers during integration phases at test sites and assist production teams.
  • Define RTL function architecture.
  • Perform HDL coding.
  • Conduct simulation and implementation.
  • Test and debug on board.

Required Skills:

  • Strong VHDL knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Xilinx tools for synthesis and implementation.
  • Thorough understanding of Xilinx FPGAs.
  • Functional simulation expertise.
  • Hardware design skills, including logic design and debugging.
  • FPGA design experience with VHDL/Verilog RTL coding, System C/System Verilog.
  • Knowledge of FPGA synthesis and PAR tools.
  • Experience implementing DSP algorithms in FPGA environments for radar and electronic warfare systems.
  • Ability to model algorithms in Octave/MATLAB, generate test vectors, and visualize data.
  • Working knowledge of ADCs and DACs, as well as interpreting their performance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Version control tool proficiency, such as SVN.
