Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Lead who combines strong system design expertise with exceptional people management skills to lead our healthcare claims processing engineering teams.

About the Role

This role requires deep technical knowledge of distributed systems and the ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for designing and architecting scalable healthcare claims processing systems handling millions of transactions, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security standards meet healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR), and driving technical strategy for claims adjudication, provider networks, and member management systems.

Your Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Develop and implement technical strategies for claims processing systems, ensure system reliability, performance, and security standards meet healthcare compliance requirements, and drive technical innovation.
  • People Management: Build, lead, and mentor a team of software engineers across multiple product areas, conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning, foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence, recruit top engineering talent, and manage team capacity, sprint planning, and delivery commitments.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Data, and Operations teams on feature planning and delivery, translate business requirements into technical specifications and implementation roadmaps, communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders, and drive engineering best practices, code quality, and delivery processes.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience with 1+ years in technical leadership, strong system design experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures, and hand-on coding experience.
  • Experience with real-time processing systems and high-volume transaction processing, track record of successful large-scale system migrations or platform modernizations, proven track record of scaling engineering teams and managing technical talent, and deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), databases, and modern engineering practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
