Job Description:

About the Role:

The Data Governance Manager will be responsible for leading data governance activities in India, ensuring the delivery of expected value to meet function and business needs, protecting data, ensuring data compliance, promoting data usage, standardizing data, streamlining information systems supporting data, and improving data quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain data governance practices, processes, tools, awareness, and training in alignment with global data governance standards.
  • Develop and implement a detailed cartography of data with associated properties, linking to IM Enterprise Architecture and Data Officers for business objects.
  • Assess and ensure compliance with data governance referential, identifying risks and developing action plans.
  • Manage internal and external data governance activities, including training, awareness, and communications.
  • Support Business and Information Management stakeholders in prioritizing data governance-related investments.
  • Guide on data classification, risk assessment, and risk elimination/mitigation for new engagements.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise data lifecycle management and governance framework, with experience in digital technologies and a good understanding of data regulations like GDPR, Export Controls, and PII.

Additionally, the candidate should have strong leadership skills, including the ability to influence senior managers, communicate to top management level, and motivate teams to complete project work.

Technical skills required include a strong experience in the overall data lifecycle, good understanding of data architecture and data security, and knowledge of data governance principles and framework.

Success will be measured in areas such as on-time delivery and quality of projects, innovative and cost-effective solutions, customer satisfaction, and strong international and local collaboration with multicultural teams.
