Procurement Specialist Job Description

This is a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects within the civil construction sector. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive procurement strategies that align with project timelines, budgets, and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to secure high-quality materials and services at competitive prices.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with reliable suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and ensure suppliers meet their obligations consistently.
Cost Management:
  • Cost Optimization: Lead cost management initiatives by negotiating favorable terms and pricing with suppliers to minimize costs and maximize value.
  • Market Trend Analysis: Monitor market trends in civil construction materials to identify opportunities for cost reduction and value enhancement.
Quality Assurance:
  • Quality Control: Establish and oversee quality control processes to ensure procured materials and services meet required standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers and site engineers to ensure high-quality materials are delivered.
Inventory Management:
  • Inventory Levels: Manage inventory levels of civil construction materials to meet project demands without overstocking.
  • Forecasting: Coordinate with project managers to forecast material needs and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
Indirect Procurement:
  • Technology Procurement: Oversee IT equipment, software applications, and related services procurement.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Evaluate and select technology vendors based on their ability to deliver high-quality products and services.
Office Supplies and General Services:
  • Procurement Management: Manage procurement of office supplies, furniture, and general services that support daily operations.
  • Operational Alignment: Ensure procurement processes are cost-effective, timely, and aligned with operational needs.
Budget Management and Reporting:
  • Budget Preparation: Prepare and manage budgets for direct and indirect procurement activities.
