Associate Director - Programmes

The Associate Director – Programmes will play a critical role in advancing the organisation's programme portfolio. This position focuses on designing, steering, and scaling impactful initiatives with emphasis on effective planning, cross-sectoral integration, and outcome-oriented delivery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Support the development of long-term strategies and annual plans for programme themes to drive growth and impact.
  • Innovation and Collaboration: Identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation to strengthen impact and outcomes.
  • Programme Oversight: Oversee select programme areas to ensure timely, high-quality delivery in line with agreed goals.
  • Operational Efficiency: Provide guidance to project teams to strengthen operational efficiency and responsiveness.
  • External Engagement: Engage with implementing agencies, knowledge partners, and peer organisations to strengthen programme outcomes.
  • Representation: Represent the organisation in external forums as required.
  • Talent Development: Provide mentoring support to mid-level team members to help them grow into leadership roles.
  • Culture Building: Encourage a collaborative culture that values learning and accountability.
  • Performance Tracking: Ensure effective systems for tracking progress, capturing lessons, and adapting strategies.
  • Reporting and Budgeting: Support preparation of reports, presentations, and knowledge products, and contribute inputs to budget planning and monitor utilisation in assigned programme areas.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal processes and compliance frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 12–15 years of relevant experience in programme design, management, or evaluation within the development sector, including experience in leadership roles.
