About the Role

  • This is a senior-level technical position focused on ensuring database integrity and efficiency.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with MySQL installation, configuration, and upgrades, as well as replication setup and monitoring.
  • A strong understanding of database health, metadata locks, slow queries, and replication lag is necessary to succeed in this role.
  • In addition to database expertise, the successful candidate will also have Linux server management skills, including user management, process monitoring, cron jobs, package updates, and system resource checks.
  • Backup and recovery processes, including implementation and monitoring using tools like mysqldump or Percona XtraBackup, are also essential.
  • This role requires a high level of security awareness, including routine patching, upgrades, and security hardening for MySQL and Linux environments.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving L2 support tickets, escalating complex issues to L3 when necessary.
  • Participation in disaster recovery drills, capacity planning, and system audits is also required.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation, including runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base documentation, is crucial to success in this position.

Key Skills and Qualifications
