Quality Assurance Specialist

The Quality Assurance Specialist will oversee the execution, support, and continuous improvement of quality assurance processes within a dynamic DevSecOps environment. This role focuses on test planning, code quality enforcement, vulnerability scanning, and release readiness to ensure secure and reliable software delivery across platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for application interfaces and operations.
  • Maintain Sonar Cloud quality gates and monitor code quality metrics to drive improvements.
  • Track defects from QA findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Conduct release readiness reviews and validate quality criteria prior to deployment to guarantee smooth transitions.
  • Precisely prepare and maintain audit artifacts for compliance and internal/external reviews.
Vulnerability & Security:
  • Perform vulnerability scanning and reporting using tools like Sonar Cloud and Visual Studio to identify potential security risks.
  • Support audit readiness and escalate unresolved blockers to ensure timely resolution.
Collaboration & Support:
  • Participate in weekly QA reviews and collaborate with Dev Leads, Ops, and Service teams to foster open communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for QA-related issues to ensure seamless issue resolution.
Reporting & Documentation:
  • Maintain and update system documentation and QA procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Prepare weekly status reports detailing progress, testing tasks, and artifact collection to keep stakeholders informed.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and refine QA processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness within DevSecOps.
  • Support release and deployment coordination for enhancements and integrations to ensure timely releases.
  • Deliver training and support to team members on QA tools and processes to promote skill development.
Core Competencies:
  • Demonstrate proven experience in QA methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking.
  • Showcase knowledge of static code analysis, vulnerability scanning (e.g., Sonar Cloud), and compliance requirements.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive results.
Work Experience:
  • Hold 3–5 years of experience in QA or related positions, preferably within DevSecOps environments.
Education/Training:
  • Obtain a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field required (proven experience can substitute for degree requirement).
Software & Technology:
  • Desirable experience with Sonar Cloud, Visual Studio, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Desirable knowledge of vulnerability scanning and compliance requirements.
Work Environment:
  • Requires working schedule close to the US PST zone.
  • Will involve working with remote teams and users.
