Education Leadership Position

This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to drive education leadership in India. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the higher education landscape and be able to interface with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thought leadership/policy advocacy work in higher education, including developing papers, reports, and articles on key topics.
  • Interface regularly with regulatory bodies, ministries, and other related organizations to stay up-to-date on policy developments and provide inputs/recommendations.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with university leaders, multilateral/bilateral organizations, and other important stakeholders in higher education.

Committee Management:

  • Conduct periodic committee meetings under the guidance of Committee leadership, preparing agendas and minutes.
  • Identify and create small groups of experts/Task Forces to address specific sectoral issues.
  • Work with Task Forces in developing papers and executing bespoke projects, including report writing, project implementation, surveys and research; events/webinars/masterclasses; program development and implementation.

Higher Education Summit (HES):

  • Organize and manage the annual global FICCI Higher Education Summit.
  • Work with the Committee leadership in designing the conference program and identifying national and international partners.
  • Manage masterclasses/workshops and focused closed-door interactions between industry and academic leaders.

Projects:

  • Identify and execute projects in the space of industry-academia engagement, reconnecting with FICCI's NKFH partners and initiating activities based on the NKFH framework.
  • Organize various capacity building programs for faculty and higher education leadership.
  • Engage with World Bank and other global agencies and explore joint projects.

Webinars/Workshops/Masterclasses/Delegations:

  • Ideate and execute masterclasses, workshops, webinars on important topics.
  • Engage Committee leadership and senior government functionaries in some of the identified/select ones.

Reports/Recommendations:

  • Keep a close eye on recent government announcements and develop FICCI inputs/recommendations for their consideration.
  • Work closely with Key committee members/task forces and help in putting together position papers/reports on identified areas.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of higher education landscape.
  • Ability to interface with stakeholders at mid/senior level.
  • Primary and secondary research skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and MS office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).

Education:

  • MBA /MBE/ MSW/ MA – Economics / Social Sciences/Other disciplines.

Experience:

  • 4-12 years of relevant experience.
