Job Overview

This is a leadership role that oversees the development, deployment, and maintenance of high-performance web applications.

  • As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing specifications, design, development, code reviews, deployment, and troubleshooting of scalable web applications.
  • You will advocate for software design best practices and recommend frameworks and design patterns to ensure technical excellence.
  • You will lead technical design discussions, provide suggestions to mitigate impact, and make decisions to evolve software applications and architectures as needed.
  • Additionally, you will review work to ensure coding standards and best practices are being followed, and ensure applications meet Non-Functional requirements (Security, Scalability, Resiliency, Accessibility, and Performance).
  • You will also provide leadership, support, and coaching to high-performing teams, guide employees in setting goals, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • A key aspect of this role is to continuously improve Software Development processes, coordinate development projects and production issues with cross-functional teams, and collaborate with Product and Program Managers to influence the Product roadmap and Project plan.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree (or higher) in Computer Science OR related technical discipline
  2. Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
  3. 10+ years of relevant Software Development experience in developing and shipping software
  4. 3+ years of management/leadership experience in a global software development organization
  5. Hands-on experience in the design, development, and release cycle of software, including Microservices, Event-driven and Service-Oriented Architecture, and cloud computing platforms (AWS/Azure)
  6. Proficient in Java programming experience, Object Oriented Design, and working experience with Databases (Relational/No-SQL) and Queuing Technologies (Rabbit MQ/Kafka)
  7. Experience understanding business strategy and its alignment with technology, strong leadership, project management, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  8. Ability to influence technical discussions, building teams technical vision, and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
