Medical Device Service Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical/Service Technician to manage the medical device turnaround process at our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for disinfection, basic electronics checks, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to ensure every device is ready for safe redeployment after each rental cycle.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of medical devices according to established protocols.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of devices for functional issues after patient usage.
  • Replace components and consumable parts as needed to maintain optimal device performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of calibration logs and quality control checks.
  • Troubleshooting & Basic Repairs:
  • Detect and diagnose electronic issues with control units and perform minor repairs as required.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to resolve complex technical issues or escalations.
  • Update software and firmware as necessary to ensure compatibility and security.
  • Device Deployment Support:
  • Coordinate device pickups and installations at hospitals/home-care centers as needed.
  • Deploy new devices or rental equipment according to customer requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive training to nursing staff or caregivers on proper device usage.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Compile and maintain detailed service logs, including device usage hours, complaints, and interventions.
  • Prepare regular reports for operations and product teams, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in servicing medical equipment (e.g., infusion pumps, suction machines, ventilators, patient monitors).
  • Hands-on expertise in basic electronics troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Familiarity with hospital infection control practices is an asset.

  • Technical proficiency in electronic devices and medical equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective hospital coordination.
  • Aptitude for maintaining accurate service documentation.
  • Will to travel locally for device pickups/deployments when required.
