Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior High Performance Computing Engineer to join our team.

This is a vital role that requires deep technical expertise in HPC technology and standard methodologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on engineering experience deploying, maintaining and supporting HPC infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing cloud-based infrastructure that supports data science (e.g. AI/ML workflows, Image Analysis). They will collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to deploy scalable machine learning models into production.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage cloud-based infrastructure for HPC environments
  • Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to deploy machine learning models
  • Ensure the security, scalability and reliability of HPC systems in the cloud
  • Optimize cloud resources for cost-effective use
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud services and industry standard processes

Required Skills:

  • Linux/Unix System Administration: Expert-level knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
  • Job Scheduling and Resource Management: Proficiency with job scheduling and resource management tools (SLURM, PBS, LSF, etc.)
  • Parallel Computing: Good understanding of parallel computing, MPI, OpenMP and GPU acceleration (CUDA, ROCm)
  • Storage Architectures: Knowledge of storage architectures and distributed file systems (Lustre, GPFS, Ceph)
  • Containerization Technologies: Experience with containerization technologies (Singularity, Docker) and cloud-based HPC solutions
  • Scripting Languages: Expertise in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Automation Tools: Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) for system provisioning and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC)
  • Cloud Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
  • Distributed Computing: Experience with distributed computing and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
